What is the rind on Brie made of?

... I can't stand it - it tastes like smelling salts to me, for some reason, all ammonia-ish. I like the middle, though.

What's the rind of Brie cheese made from? Well, it's sort of made, erm, from Brie cheese! It's part of the natural process of making the cheese. See here:

LOL thanks - I sort of figured that the rind was part of the cheese, just wondered what was in it in particular to give it that 'orrible taste. I'll check out the link and educate m'self............... ta for the help xx
It's made of a kind of "edible mould"
ooh i do miss the brie...on my shopping list as soon as this baby is born.
