My Mouse is doing funny things

It's being a right pain in the toots today. Every time I try and click on something it either does nothing or comes up with what is like a little round black and white stop sign. I have to keep clicking somewhere else on the page and then click on what I actually wanted again.

It also keeps not recognising when I've let go of the left click. When I scroll down a page then let go of the button, it seems as though the computer gets stuck and it keeps scrolling when I move the mouse. I again have to click somewhere else on the page to stop it. The batteries are pretty new so it's not them. Any ideas?

If it is only happening on Answer Bank join the rest of us who are having trouble with the back button. Getting on my nerves as it has been like it a few days.

Nope, I can't blame AB for this one. It's happening on everything I use.

Does it have a scrolling wheel on it ? click on that it should stop the little circle appearing?

It does have a scrolling wheel but that's never worked since I hooked this mouse up to my laptop (a couple of years ago).

Maybe that is the problem somehow. A symbol such as you describe has been known to come up on my screen if I press down on the wheel rather than "spin" it. Although I can't replicate it now: typical.

Could be an idea to update the driver for it, see if you can get the wheel operating.
