Hi all, I know this is a long shot but after a piece of music. It was played advertising a programme the other day. Not sure if BBC 1 or ITV. It sounded an indian type song but the lyrics were english but had that beat to it. It is a female singer and almost a rap - like she is saying the words but you can hear them. Any ideas?

Thanks

Crumbs, it could be anything - what sort of programme was it advertising?
It's not Jai Ho by Pussycat Dolls is it; some of that sounds quite spoken and includes Indian music?

Thanks - I knew it was a long shot. It sounds like Jai Ho and is very recent. It was advertising some programmes that were coming up over the next few weeks, either BBC or ITV1.

There was a distinctive beat to it- nah nah na nah na, nah nah na nah,. Sounded like a youngish artist. First hearing it sounding indian but wasn't.
Have just had a quick look on Youtube for BBC and ITV adverts but the only one I can find is one for the BBC which features the song Hello by Martin Solveig and Drangonette which does kind of include speaking but I wouldn't necessarily say sounds like what you are describing; will keep an eye and ear out for you whilst I'm watching TV!
Is this it?

Thank you sophie_1003.

Andyrory - thank you so much! That it is - didn't realise it was so old! Just heard it the other day and reminded me that I liked it but thought it was more recent. I don;t really listen to the radio anymore! Would never have found that.

Thanks again - can always rely on the answer bank!
Ah love that MIA song! Glad that it's been found!
I love Paper Planes :) Slumdog Millionaire made it big...
