Guess it depends on your local authority's collection method but where I am we have three bins. The one for cans, bottles, card, paper and plastic is emptied every 2 weeks. Its always full to bursting by collection day and I always imagine the binmen thinking "bloody hell, how many drinks?"!

our bins very rarely see any alcohol bottles, maybe a an empty whiskey bottle a few times a year after the Irish Coffees that we so love, possibly a Baileys bottle one a year. Possibly a wine bottle around Xmas.
I had a little grin at Eddie's post. Unbelievable!! P.S. Eddie, that doesn't mean I don't believe you, just that people are unbelievable.
My bottle bin is okay....that's mainly down to me. It's the cans....especially now the footie's back on.
we rarely have bottles or cans to recycle !
Mostly recycle soft drinks cans the odd wine bottle...the odd rum or whiskey maybe one of each a year... but we have a communal recycling bin so know one knows who's dumping what now ....
Yes I am! We only have a small ish tub for cans/glass,plastics and that is always full plus a further 2 bin bags which are mostly beer cans with a few bottles of wine. It takes ages to put it all out (every fortnight) and I always look at it compared to everyone elses and think we have the most! Worse still next doors are full of water bottles ha ha.
Lol tigwig. The people next door to me, fill theirs up with water bottles too.
Last Christmas/new year, I had two boxes filled with beer cans, perching on the wall for collection. Some little oik decided to knock the box down, and I had to go out 9in the snow) and pick them all up from the road. I was so embarrassed!
Why the need for embarrassment over the amount we recycle?

Surely the embarrassment should come when our general rubbish bins are overflowing?
