Aren't a lot of you lucky living near a beach, I would just adore being able to go for a walk along the beach and just stand and watch the sea, in a spare few hours. Where we live its a 2 hour drive to the coast so it means planning a whole day out + the cost of petrol of course!!

Dogs generally like beaches, Spotit3, but some will leap into the water whereas others are terrified of it (but fascinated by it at the same time!).

Does your dog like the sea?
"lie a mad thing." ?
I went to the beach too but I dived in a cafe pretty quick! Cold and rainy here. Good to get out though.
It's not rocket science to re-insert the missing 'k', Ratter!
Ah! like a mad thing. sorry, I didnt see that for a mo, it confused me lol
My entire weekend excursions have consisted of 20 minutes in Tesco and 10 minutes in the Co-op. Boring, boring, BORING!!!
No Chis, not rocket science, I just missed it for a few moments! I do beg your pardon!
Don't worry about it, Ratter. I'm always easily confused ;-)

My dog hates any sort of water, Buenchico. If we are out and it begins to rain she tries her best to get as close to me as possible to try to avoid the rain. Sorry about the typing error, Ratter15, hope it didn't upset you too much!
My feline friend doesn't seem to mind the rain too much but she still knows how to demand that I fetch a towel to dry her ;-)

Big dog? Little dog?
Im sure I will survive :)

Miniature poodle, big enough for me. Not clipped like one of these fancy poodles, mind you, more like a terrier. Shewas an unwanted pet when I got her.
I didn't used to like the smaller poodles very much but they're starting to 'grow on me' now.

If I win the lottery jackpot (so that I don't have to worry about working) I'll probably get several dogs. I adore Siberian Huskies (because of their beautiful blue eyes) and Border Collies (because of their intelligence and sense of fun).

There is a smaller one than mine, the toy poodle, and a larger one, standard.
We always had dogs when I was young[many moons ago!] and lived in the country but now I live in town I don't think it would be fair to keep a larg dog when I only hav a small garden.
Large dogs and small gardens aren't a problem if you've got the time, energy and dedication to take them for a a couple of 10-mile walks each day!
(Er, the dogs that is - not the gardens!)
Question Author
Time, yes. Energy, yes, dedication, probably no! I do take her for half an hours walk in the morning and sometimes she gets another run in the afternoon. She has done well this weekend as I went over the fields yesterday with my nephew and his two dogs, a lab and a collie. We walked for about 2 hours. It was a bit muddy in places so she wasn't too clean when we got back but she certainly enjoyed herself.
Well, I hope that the weather is good for your walk tomorrow morning.

Anyway, I'd better go to bed now. (I'll be getting up at 0430 on several days this week, starting on Tuesday, to work some very long days, so I'd better try to get my body clock to accept that this is the time when I should be sleeping!).

Good night,

Chris

I suppose I am lucky, I am only about half an hour's drive away. Funny thing is, we used to live beside the sea and I didn't appreciate it then. Think it was because everything seem to close down in the winter and the place was dead.
Question Author
Think I had better try to get some sleep now as the dog likes an early walk in the morning. Night! Night! to allABers.
