Does anyone remember Treats (now M&M's - sort of)  but not the ones in a yellow packet with nuts, the ones in a light blue packet with chewie stuff?  Does anyone remember them or did I over do it with the Space Dust?

I remember them - the blue bag had toffee treats and the chocolate was a lot nicer than M&Ms.
What were Minstrels before they became Minstels? Were they Treats? Were they the chocolate that melts in the mouth and not in the hand? Anyone remember?

I think Minstrels were always called minstrels - but why did they spoil them by putting coffee or orange ones in them - always thought they were going to be the malteaser ones, but got a nsaty surprise when you got either the coffee or orange ones... as for the blue Treats, Toffetts were quite similar but never had the same crunchy chocolate as the Treats did - would love to know what happened to them.

They were called Treets and came in peanut, toffee and chocolate varieties (yellow, blue and brown bag respectively). The chocolate ones were indeed the predecessors to Minstrels.

Dockley, you're confusing Mistrels with Revels there...

Thank you Elfin, glad someone knows their chocs. Thought I could remember peanut Treets, nice to have it confirmed.
Treats were delicious and, in my opinion, a far superior version of the chocolate-covered peanut. When M&M's came to Britain, Treats died out. Terrible shame. It reminds me of VHS Vs Betamax - the better one didn't survive. Minstrels were already in existence. The threesome were Treats, Minstrels and Maltesers.
