Got a cordless mouse yesterday, it was fine for a few hours but now it has gone all slow and sort of "sticky"....... anyone got any ideas as to why this might be? Is it maybe worth changing the batteries (they came in the box so might have gone off, perhaps?) even though they were new?

Hi, yeah changing the batteries before doing anything else on any battery powered equipment is always the best first move.

Check to see if the receiver is close to the PC... mine has to be placed five or six inches away (including the length of the USB cord) or I have the same symptoms you describe...
if its not new take the ball out and clean the rollers
