I have just got new carpet down and my dog decided to christen it by weeing on it. I tried to wash it but don't think I have been very successful, may even have left the carpet a little bit lighter on the spot. Any good advice appreciated.

Bicarbonate of soda if the area is dry, but you can use biological washing poweder, or one of the specialised urine cleaning products available at good pet stores or online.

Thank you, jules77 ans woofgang.
For under £1 you can buy a washing up liquid called Morning Fresh from Sainsburys. It came top in a Which survey for stain removers. It works for my cat and if it doesn't work for you then at least you can use it for the purpose for which it was made. And bicarb is good to use first to soak the wee up as it draws the wet out.
