and the couple concerned aren't putting out a gift list as they said they didn't want to 'presume on peoples pockets' during these diffiult financial times. - Which I thought was pretty decent of them. So, as they already have set up house together, what do you think would be an acceptable gift? I don't think you can ever have enough towels or bed linen, or hubby thought something for the garden, like a fruit tree sapling - any ideas anybody? Around £30-£40

How about a tub planted in the colours of her bouquet....or with things that will flower around the time of their anniversary each year...

A good plain but heavy glass vase with some glass 'pebbles'

A scrap book to keep all the other wedding bits in... add in some photos of them before the wedding if you can take some or have them already... photos of places you know they have visited local restaurants etc

When we go to weddings (not close friends) we almost always buy a bottle of Champagne - with the instruction to either drink tonight or save 'til next year. £30-40 will get a nice bottle of fizz ...
We bought roses off this website as thank you presents after our wedding but some of them are named appropriately to give to the wedding couple too. The roses are fantastic quality (still look stunning 2 years on) and they are easily dug up if they move house
