I can't say that I've ever seen them sold separately Towie.
Any idea of the make and model?

the taps originally came from B & Q and were left by the previous owner of our property. OH has taken one out this morning and it has a thread on it, so it screws in it measures approx 19mm across. They do sell them on Ebay, but they are a larger size.

Thank you Scotman - this looks very interesting - will show OH when he returns from B & Q.
That's a good idea of Scotters.......... although you don't need to replace the valve body as well. Replacement handwheels on their own, come in a huge variety of styles.
Sorry. I seem to have misunderstood. Why would anyone need to have labels to remember which tap hot water comes from?
Maybe you wouldn't want your guests to scald themselves, Scotty!

Why not put a spot of red paint on the hot and blue on the cold

I tried the permanent marker, Sprinter, but it eventually rubbed off.

I have just ordered brand new taps - thanks for all your great answers.(:oD
You can only buy ceramic inserts .. and these are only found on the dear stuff.
Question Author
I did find ceramic inserts, Albags, but they were too big for my taps. (:o))
I have a few sets .. I nick 'em if I see taps at the tip!
