Thinking of going to Bristol tomorrow and wondered if anuone had any recommendations of things to do and see (or to avoid). I have looked at the Bristol tourism website but wanted some personal insight.

Hi Ichkeria - Bristol zoo is all tarted up now and really nice (but unfortunately it is not as good as Chester Zoo which is totally brilliant).
I haven't actually been to the aquarium, so didn't have a clue how much it was. Just had a look on their website... Blimey!! I don't think any aquarium would be worth that much!
I would definitely go with the harborside, suspension bridge and the downs. Take a ball for the kids, it's huge!

Its expensive for how long you would probably stay there - cheaper for us to go to the zoo but might be a bit cold for a whole day there tomorrow. <(The aquarium in Birmingham is nice as it has got otters - they are so cute.)
I think @Bristol is quite expensive too

Hi puzzled - I haven't looks at the prices for that as we haven't long done Techniquest in Cardiff.
Avoid....my ex! Unles u wana go slap him for me lol xxx jus kidding
Oh, otters are lovely :-) I went to the zoo a few months back with the little'un and we did only stay for a short while as the weather wasn't too good. I think it's easier for them to get fed up when it's like that.
If you do want to shop, the mall (Cribbs Causeway) would probably be better for you, as it's all under one roof. If you wait a few weeks, you can see Olly Murs switching on the Christmas lights... lol :D

Just behind The Mall, is a place called 'Jump'. It's a MASSIVE kids' indoor play area. It's not very expensive to get in, and you can stay for as long as you like. It's also one of those play areas where the adults can go on the stuff too. Honestly, I had an absolute blast in the house of balls!
> I had an absolute blast in the house of balls

Ahem...
LOL!! :-D
I went to one of those fish eat your feet places in Bristol, it was in a shopping arcade somewhere in the town centre, brilliant experience, may have it done again next week when we go to see "We will Rock You" on Wednesday, if I can find it again.
Carandrog, It's in The Galleries shopping centre.... http://www.galleriesbristol.co.uk/ (for address details)
I just try and avoid Bristol at all costs, a dreadful place!!!
Sher, did you go to Brizzle today?
Where's it to?

Hi Flip, we did and the docks were lovely (dinner was pants though). Went over the bridge but couldn't find the entrance to the cave but the kids had an ice cream so weren't bothered.
Oh brilliant! I'm glad you had a nice day sher. Shame dinner wasn't up to much, but at least the kids got an ice cream out of it and had a nice time! :-)
glad you had a good time

Thanks Mickrog - Sunday is the only day my husband doesn't work so we like to do something as a family (if we stayed in the house, boy #1 would be in his room all day, so we wouldn't see him and I would have to cook dinner!).
