It's made in the same way as jam so I would say yes, it's orange jam.

If your posh it is probably a Breakfast Preserve. Tell them if it wasn't a jam it wouldn't be on the jam shelf in the supermarket.
Why can you buy orange jam then if essentially its marmalade,
I thought marmalades were made with peel whereas jams are made with fruit?
Marmelade was the original word for jam. Over the years it's tended to become associated with jams made from citrus fruit, but it's still jam.

And jam translates as follows into other languages:
Greek: μαρμελάδα (marmelatha)
Italian: marmellata
Spanish: mermelada
a preserve will have a higher proportion of fruit
