If you haven't had it long then take it back to shop. Which model number is it.
It might not need resharpening, oddly enough I have just spent the last hour removing bits of paper from mine with a pair of pointed pliers. Sometimes the strips of paper wind round the cutter assembly instead of falling through and block some of the cutters. The result is a similar problem to yours.

i just put a piece of fine sand paper through...and ironically it cut it into perfect strips!

i think it may work after a few more though...as normal paper still sticks together but if you pull it the strips are cut mostly, rather than folded...

ill try a few more sheets

not sure its working...as the blades just sort of press against it as it spins along dont they?
they dont scrape against it like you would a knife on a block...
dont ever put more than three thru at a time,no matter what it says in the book
dump it - sorry recycle it & get another
Thin paper is the most difficult to shred. The sandpaper is thick.

Sandpaper will blunten the edges very quickly. Don't do it.
Before you get rid of it take it apart if possible and you will find it full of bits of paper. Give it a good clean out. If it still won't shred properly afterwards then you can get rid of it. Generally the bottom comes away from the top after removing a few screws. Unplug it before opening the case.
