Why does my computer shut down when I plug the scanner into it?

Hi,

Try plugging your scanner in, then switching your PC on. It might be because your USB drivers need updating for your mainboard.

If your PC starts up ok when the scanner is plugged in, go straight to the scanners manufacturers website and download the lastest drivers.

This is the same problemo I had and this solved it.
