Pokemon type cartoon

I remember years ago watching this japanese/chinese style cartoon, where there was a girl (maybe 2) and one day they go into the forest near their home and come across these creatures that are like Pokemon, i think it was dubbed over in english, does anyone else know of this?

Could be a good 10 years ago.
