Cockermouth, Cumbria, describes itself as one of the 50 'Gem Towns' in England.

Anyone know any of the others, or where there is a list of them

The Council for British Archaeology in 1965 designated about 51 towns as such - others are Whitehaven and Pershore - I can't find a list anywhere though; perhaps if you were to email them they could help...

Thanks for that Slaney. I contacted CBA and they have sent me list, which they are planning to put on line some day
