I've got some files, and all the GB/used up space is there, but it won't extract them. I keep having, "you need to start extraction from a previous volume to unpack" and another message underneath saying, "no files to extract"!?!

But the files are there!?

They are part of a set of rar files, you need to find the first one and unpack that one first then the rest of them in order,

Multipart RARs are normally used to span the archive across a set of disks of some type.
The first file in the set usually has the extension .rar, with the others being .r00, .r01, etc. If you open the .rar file in WinRAR you should be able to see the contents. You could also try clicking the "test" button in WinRAR, which will check to see if all the parts are there.

Also, if you downloaded these files from a newsgroup, you might also need to do a parity check on the files - those will be the .par2 ones alongside the original post. This will correct the rar files to allow error-free extraction.
There are two RAR formats .. One new, one old.
Just read this .. like I did in 2002 : )
