good luck I am away for a week but if you need any more help post an FAO after the 10th I was an A4C rep so I have a bit of an idea about the processes
Yes - I agree with rowan - if your new role has responsibilities removed, then your AfC banding can indeed be lower - as you know the banding is all dependent on the role you undertake and the level of autonomy you have in your job. I too am NHS and I know how complicated the banding is - I remember well when we all had to go through the banding process to get our "correct" grades. If you assume less responsibility then this would/should be closely analysed by the pay team to make sure you are on the right grade for the new job. You will have a staffside rep in your Trust - definitely worth having a word with them, they can advise you.
