"Three letters from Teddy" is a remarkable story and I couldn't help myself from holding back my tears. Have you read this story? Does it remind you of how you should be?

trt get some rest before you read. You might just like it when you're bright awake. :)
Only just read the story, Sagz. Thankyou, I loved it.
What an inspiring story, Sagz, thank you!
sagz - you seem like a nice person and I almost feel sorry to do this to you - but the story isn't true. I've said it now ...

I am so cynical sometimes - must be my Scottish blood/genes.

Cupid and Sir Alec and those who read and loved it. Thank you for taking the time to read an inspiring story :) May god bless you all.
is a nice allegory, but i side with wolfie here - life is just too messy to be that pure and lovely. i'm sure there are inspirational teachers out there and pupils who have been supported above and beyond the call of duty...but this story leaves a rather sickly-sweet tatse after reading (and is typical usa schmaltz). x

use the snopes link and save time... and have a bowl ready rather than tissues

Nice sentiment and all that and I am sure Sagz wanted people to feel inspired but these sort of tales are almost always lies/misrepresentations etc
I once wasted an hour of my life reading 'Jonathan Livingstone Seagull'. I was told it was inspirational. Its about a seagull who likes flying. Rubbish.
I often wonder why people feel the need to write stories like this - there are real stories out there that are inspiring. It is first thing in the morning and I and not really awake and can't actually think of any real stories - but there are some - out there somewhere.

;-)
what a load of american tosh
Booldawg - the seagull story was made into a film so it must be a true story.

:-)
the film looks pretty on the big screen although you have to stick your fingers in your ears to avoid Neil Diamond
the film was spoiled by including a female gull to please the equal ops brigade and the soundtrack was really good too... I like neil diamond...
