Just booked a Nile cruise, including excursions. I know from talking to people who've been that its a pretty full on week if you do them all, but I would like relaxation time too!
Going to canvas my friends on which excursions they thought were unmissable, but the more opinions the better, so would be interested to hear from anyone on here who has been.
I think its more or less a standard itinerary on all the cruise ships. TIA.

Valley of the Kings was my absolute favourite, also really enjoyed the trip to the botanical gardens. Abu Simbel is stunning, but it is an early start, and the majority of tourists are packed into a very small part of the day (coach had to leave and come back in a convoy). Don't bother with the sound and lights show, those who went were not impressed.

Many thanks again for all your helpful replies.
Hadn't realised Abu Simbel was quite such an early start!
Will be sure to take extra care with handwashing. Now getting very excited about the holiday:-)
Have to agree with Daisynonna about Philae. I went twice, once during the day and once at night for the son et lumière. Both fabulous. Very impressed with Abu Simbel too. Amazing that it was relocated from what is now the bottom of Lake Nasser.
