I have a full UK car licence but I am planning to do a direct access course for motorcycles. Do I need to apply for a provisional motorbike licence or does my car licence just get updated once I have passed the bike tests?

check the groups on your licence to see if it covers m/cycles firstly.
I have an old style licence.
