Now (sorta reluctantly) using chrome because my old browser (IE8) was no longer supported on some sites, and I took a severe dislike to IE9 when I tried it a few times.

My question concerns translation though. I have a number of foreign friends on facebook, and in the past used inline translation (which I assume was a feature of IE) to translate. I can't do that now so is there any way to translate what they say in chrome.

TIA

I rarely use Chrome but I suspect that you'll need to install a suitable extension:

Or use Firefox

with this add-on:

Just tried that Chris - as soon as I started to download AVG threw up a warning of a threat. I'll look again later when I have more time.
To check that a Chrome extension is authorised by Google, click on the spanner symbol. Then on Tools, Extensions and 'Browse the Gallery'. Enter 'Translate' into the search field. When you find something which you like the look of, disable AVG before downloading it. (Instructions here: http://free.avg.com/us-en/faq.num-2429 ).
