I was woken at 6.50am this morning by the sound of my front door letter box banging, after having a plastic bag for clothes collection pushed through very quickly. There should be a way of stopping these types of deliveries so early in the day - 9oc is early enough!

"There should be a way of stopping these types of deliveries " selotape your postbox up and undo between hours of 9-5.

Its no different to the postie coming at that time, which they used to.
all we get delivered are those charity plastic bags - how much junk do they think we have! They should give us a plastic bag to put all the unused plastic bags in.
Regarding the post, nothing was supposed to be delivered prior to 7am officially. Notice I said officially.
Strange letterbox...
You just cannot win, when I was a paperboy and had all the papers delivered by 7-30, I was often told off for being late !
Really postdog I did not know that. I would have thought the earlier the better. They are not knocking up up, are they? They just quietly put things through the door and then leave. The earliest I have ever had something delivered was 6.45am and that was first thing on a Monday morning.

Can any other ABers beat this record for earlyness?
My postie comes at 8.00 and sometimes earlier. Its normal.
I think the general rule is 'not before 7.00am'. I think that's quite reasonable. Our dustmen sometimes turn up about 6.00am!!
We are lucky if we get our post before 1pm
I did say officially. Back in the day when you delivered in the morning it just personal choice of many to get out and do it. Letters through the box didn't matter but you weren't supposed to knock for anything till gone 7.
I have had to put a box on the outside, because my dogs bark if someone puts something through the letter box. I have also put a rude note on the box saying I don't want any junk mail, or unexpected callers. If they do knock at the door they get very short shrift from me.
i once had a fridge delivered at 6.45am. Deliveries were 7-5 and id been told it would not be that early as it was being loaded in London, but 6.45am it was atdoor in Norfolk.
what about those who are in work at 9am and leave at around 8am, they'd need to be in to sign for things.
