Following on from my post about OFAH, below .

Another brilliant classic series which i never get tired of , watcing , is the comedy Drama - Minder .

Brilliant acting by George Cole and Dennis Waterman .

Wouldn't it be good if they got togerther again and made another
series ( assuming George Cole is in good health ) ?

I saw George Cole in an episode of Midsomer Murders recently. He's looking very old. Terry would be a bit long in the tooth now to be a minder.
I agree, it was a great show.
Agree BW,it was never the same, after Dennis Waterman left and Gary Webster
took over the part.
I think George Cole is just a bit too old now to play that sort of character.

Alas , your'e probably right - wishful thinking on my part - he is 86 years of age now .

I will just have to be content with the episodes that were made .
On the evidence of new tricks, Dennis wouldn't cut the mustard now.
No, though he's excellent in New Tricks...
and 'er indoors!
Dennis is a darling .Loved him in Minder and love New Tricks ,but he's 63 ..my age ..lol..
They said last night there'll be a new series Of New Tricks next year but it must be the final one surely .James Bolam is knocking on to eighty .

And dear old George Cole must be well into his eighties .
I can't see it somehow .)
no leave the old codgers be, great show for its time
Sort of connected, I wonder what Plan B's take on DS Carter will be like in the remake of the sweeney.
Did you like the remake of Minder with Shane Richie? I thought I would hate it, but found it to be okay.
Question Author
hc4361 - No i didn't like the remake .

I kept thinking about the original , when watching an episode of the remake .
It just was not the same as the original .

This is a problem with remakes of some classic series .
The characters have become so associated with the original actors , that it is difficult for someone else to sucessfully take on that role .

Can you imagine another actor playing Del Boy or Basil Fawlty ?
But Shane wasn't playing Arthur, he was playing his nephew.
I agree I don't usually like remakes.

I enjoyed the F&H spin offs Rock and Chips, and Green Green Grass.
Question Author
True - but the problem is that they kept the title ' Minder ' in the remake
