Cat poo problem!!

We have a 6 month old tom and recently he's started leaving little 'nuggets' of poo around the house. In the morning when I get up theres usually a couple on the sofa and a few on the floor and during the day i'll find them dotted all around the house. He uses his litter tray to do 'big' poos or he goes outside. He's not long haired, so its definately not bits that have stuck to his fur and then fell off. I've read about something called middening when cats will poo around the house, but this is tends to be cats doing 'big poos (not nuggets) and is a sign of stress or anxiety, which he is'nt (if anything he's the opposite!!) He's due to be neutered in a couple of weeks, so I will definately as the vet about it but in the meantime has anybody had any experience of this happening with their cats? It would be great to walk around the house without having to keep one eye out for 'nuggets!!'

Where does he normally poo, in a tray or outside? He should be toilet trained by now - but I wonder if it is anxiety so he's marking his territory. I have toms but I've not come across this nuggeting habit before.

No experience sithlord as i dont have a cat.....HOWEVER....my solution to your problem would be to ship said cat to Thailand........show him what would happen if it poo's again........then ship him back.

maybe he's 'picked up' on the fact that you're going to have him neutered and this is his form of protest? ♥

Haha!! Well it's definately a DIRTY protest!!........Yogi, that might just do the trick. Unfortunately at the moment I could'nt afford to even ship him to Skegness :-)

Alternatively, spray the areas where he is pooing with a strong deodoriser list Oust 3 in 1 spray - he can probably smell past poo and now thinks that it's the right place to perform.

Boxtops, he uses a litter tray and goes outside. So he's definately toilet trained. I can't see it being an anxiety thing because he's a really chilled out happy cat. The weird thing is i've never witnessed him doing it. They just seem to appear!!

Yep...that happens to Docspock after singing a full version of "Streets of London", what with all the facial expressions he makes when singing!

The amn is stil pure class and genious though....and i love him ( errrm only in a manly way though ...ok?, as i was never confused )
