Now that the problem in Libya is nearly overcome when can we expect to see cheaper fuel at the pumps?

Do you really think we will see cheaper fuel? Government will use it to put one of their tax increases on it. If it goes down by the 4 pence they say it could then we may see 1 pence of it if we are lucky.
I thought the Government was working on the basis that they wanted high fuel prices - to discourage people driving so much.

Helps them hit their emissions targets.

Yes there was all that stuff about evening out fuel prices and the escalator tax.

Of course as soon as they were in Government it "was more complex than first thought"

Funny that
High fuel prices might work in discouraging driving if we actually had a decent public transport system country wide that didn't cost a small fortune to use.
We will soon not be able to afford to either drive or use public transport to work. Then what? I am sick of hearing about climate change and carbon footprints (yawn) and the way they are used as an excuse to raise fuel prices. I am not interested in it and I dont care about it.
Well it's all part of Dave 'n' Georges money making strategy

Increase indirect taxes , decrease subsidies and blame someone else

Petrol Going up? - price of oil!
University fees - not us Guv!
Council tax services slashed - blame your local council!

Then if anybody spots you wail about "the last labour government" and how the country is broke.

Finally hand out big tax cuts just before the next election

Hopefully everyone is dumb as rocks and will buy it

The problem of Libya has only just started. And,No ceap fuel. Why would we rob their assets then give them away cheap?

They were intending to do this with the sale of the nationalised banks but this has come a cropper because the value of these assets have gone down rather than up.

How have we robbed Libya of her assets?
I'm not sure the Libya situation will have a dramatic effect on oil prices even when production there is back to normal.
Some with a grasp of economics way beyond mine (not difficult) claim that oil prices may eventually fall due to global economic problems.
