I am overweight and totally unfit. I thought of buying a wii and a wii-fit and then try all the different sports whilst within safe distance of the fridge and the ladies room.

But when I realised how expensive they were I changed my mind.

But now I wonder - maybe I should go and buy one.

Yes buy one. You can monitor any progess you make, and it won't hurt you.
I use my sons Wii and got the wii fit board.. it's great you can take things slowly and then more you achieve the more games you unlock. You can also track weight loss too and give yourself target goals etc. Well worth the money and lots of fun too.
How much is it, then....? The doc says I need to exercise ;-(
This is the actual console http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-0942.aspx

and here is the Wii fit board:- http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.206-3980.aspx

hope this helps :)
Phwaw - perhaps I'll walk, it's free ;-)
wolf... my niece and nephew have the hoola-hoop game on the Wii. I almost had a heart attack... stay well clear.
Hi wolf :o)

I bought one over a year ago thinking be great to be fit without leaving the house... I didn't factor in the extremely large, heavy coffee table we have in the middle of our living room which is totally in the way, I burn up more calories shifting that (and nearly giving myself a hernia in the process!).. and now that's become the excuse for me not using it :o( I do think though that if you did buy one and use it there are some pretty good exercise things on there - the boxing is good and really gets you building up a sweat !!
Use it in the winter, both the sports disc and the Wii fit. Good fun and I use up lot of energy. No good if you are like my OH and manage to do everything without hardly moving.

I'm still not sure - what about the poor lady in the link that I posted - http://www.neoseeker....-falling-off-wii-fit/

:-)
great fun get one....
............and I haven't used it since Wolf.
LOL wolf, any excuse for a bit of jiggy jiggy.
I love my Wii fit.. The best bit is being able to track your weight loss which keeps me straight after stopping weight watchers :) x
The Wii and Wii fit are amazing. I do the Zumba on it 3 times a week and I have lost weight doing it. Get one! It's cheaper than a gym membership! lol
As long as you use them correctly they are fine.

Most accidents happen because people think they know better and don't follow the safety instruction's.

Everyone in our house uses it and has no problem's, my use has been limited lately due to my op but I will definitely use it in my Rehab program.

rowan and gran - knowing my luck I wouldn't fall off the stupid machine.
