Hi,

I know they warn you that if you are taking any medication it can reduce the affectiveness of the pill but I just wanted to know if it would be the same for the depo injection?

I had a course of stong anti biotics and painkillers a short while ago and I am wondering if they would have had any effect on my contraception? How likely is it that you could get pregnant in these circumstances?

Thanks in advance.

Don't worry, the type of antibiotics that you would have been given, would have had no deleterious effect on contraception and that goes for the common painkillers as well.

Thank you Sqad. Perhaps I should have mentioned that the anti-biotics were adminstered intravenously and the painkillers were a combination of morphine and codeine - although I suspect these fall under the 'common' bracket.

Just been a worry as I've been feeling very sick on and off lately and getting pains around my stomach but this could also just be down to stress.
The two antibiotics that might have caused a problem, are very rarely used.

Cheer up.
