is anyone else sick of this culture we live in at the moment where women don't know who fathered their children, men don't care if they did or not, dna testing is used to decide who should pay for the children (unless of course the taxpayer is once again paying) .... i'm sick of working hard to keep my family when others just seem to breed because they're too stupid to consider contraception, even when they're sleeping with several different partners in a short space of time. what kind of a lesson is that to future generations? infidelity and reliance on benefits seems be prevalent....

Have a look for 1940/50s films where there was no bad language & no bed sheets constantly moving up & down, I'm really not a prude but you can't switch the telly on now-days without getting the impression that sex has just been invented.

and music nowadays - the lyrics and videos - absolutely disgusting! i can't believe its allowed. you're right though - it is what's shown on tv and films that makes stupid people think that this is the norm and acceptable behaviour. thankfully nobody in our house watches the soaps....
I would like to see much higher emphasis placed on people being more responsible for thelmselves rather than expecting the state to rescue them. I would like to see all benefit claimants (where reasonable) having to work at least 25 hours per week on some kind of shared wage basis for at least for first year, between an employer and the government (how that would work I have no idea, but I am sure something could be worked out). I would also like to see child benefit capped to just the first two children, parents do have a choice as to how many children to have and if you are able to afford more than two, then fine but you pay for them!
Our society is based on helping the needy and sick, I think that in some cases we have gone to far and are helping the lazy and the liars.
Evolution has happened through survival of the fittest, but the way we seem to be going appears to be ensuring survival of the weakest! So therefore if we were to run our society to strict evolution rules as such, we should not be offering any social help whatsover, but letting the weak die and the poor would not be able to afford to have children as easily. I am not of course suggesting that we do this as it would be very extreme, but it does make you wonder if we are doing the best for the human race by carrying on in this way!
Absolutely agree with you Nini, it seems there more and more of the "nuts and sluts" culture out there and the "nuts n sluts" show really highlights it and makes you aware just what future lies ahead for this country. I am devoid of solutions to the problem, it won't go away because they are bringing up their off spring to be the same which of course perpetuates the problem. I do agree too re music videos, some of them amost pornographic by nature and it seems anything goes. I must sound like an old fuddy duddy but honestly the standards are terrible in our society now, people don't seem to bother about right from wrong and anything goes. If you don't subscribe to it you don't fit in, I despair of what is coming in this country as this is just the start to it all...decency as I knew it has long gone IMO.
That's a bit hysterical- no-one I know is remotely like anyone on Jeremy Kyle and niether are the vast majority of people. As 2planks has already said, it's basically just a freak show, so stop worrying the sky isn't falling and civilisation isn't coming to an end and who anyone sleeps with is entirely their own business, not yours, not mine and certianly it makes for predictable and boring TV. This is one of those phases of TV, it'll soon change again.
You are burying your head in the sand if you don't think this is a problem Nox.

There are a significant number of people who sleep with any number of partners without a thought about contraception because they know that for each child they have the state will pay them more money.

They are breeding for profit.

Mrs Flop and I have decided for a number of reasons to stop at two children. One of the reasons is financial - this financial restraint does not occur to the feckless members of our society for the simple reason that it does not exist.

The more they breed the more money they receive - this is an absurd situation, and like sue11 I'd like to see child benefit capped at two children.

Can anybody imagine going to see their boss and asking for an increase in salary because you'd like more children? You'd be laughed at!

I resent having to pay for people who choose not to help themselves. The welfare system should be there to help people who genuinely need our help and not for the long term useless and the breeding machines.
Have to agree with you flip flop, sounds about right for many of the chavs or whatever they are called and if people think this is only a case of these people existing on TV and not in the real world...well I wouldn't mind living in your area as you seem to be devoid of the that real world out there - lucky you.
