I had a small dose of a sore throat 4 weeks ago and a cough nothing serious - i then had cystitus a week later and then a week after that i had all pains down each side of my face under my ear lobes and in my jaw - my face swelled up and my left gland was very swollen looked and felt like an egg and was hurting. i was told it was mumps but turned out 3 days later the swelling went down and i felt fine so they said it must not have been mumps. a weeks gone by and the pains are back had them 3 days now and the left gland again is very swollen and slightly painful. doctor simply told me i must just grind my teeth in my sleep!!!!!!!! ive also been suffering with a dry mouth for 2 weeks now no saliva being produced at all so swallowing, sleeping and eating is a chore. i get through so much chewing gum and water a day its unreal. he checked the saliva glands today and said they were clear, not blocked. Im not feeling unwell just got these striking pains in my face and this swollen gland/lump. what do i do? im being sent for blood tests for diabeties now and the paperwork says "investigate" - dry mouth.

could it be something serious? Im not tired or ill sometimes feel quiet sick but thats it. ive lost alot of weight recently too

Well you are not being fobbed off and they are doing test, so hopefully those will find a solution. An awful lot depends on your age, any medications you are on etcetera , nothing immediately springs to mind.
you are doing all the right things, and so will find out what the proble, is. don't worry, sure it's not serious!.......you'll be fine!.....try not to be worrying!...
