I remember mygrand daughterwho is now 14 leaving her nursery to go to primary school. I coudn't believe the photo's. (I still carry one around with me) she was dressed in a red cap and gown holding a scroll as she graduated from nursery at 4.5 years of age. I embarrassed her last week by showing her the photo, she didn't remember it.
Complete and utter waste of money and just makes me think of the film Carrie. Just another chance for the rich and beautiful to humiliate the others. Too much pressure on teenagers.
It makes me puke up seeing them all dressed up like barbie dolls at such a young age and costing their parents a fortune for one night, and I bet most of them end up having a grope behind the bicycle sheds before Mum and Dad pick them up, nice dress or not :-)
Actually, trt, I was going to say something similar. Obviously not all the girls are like it, but I'm always gobsmacked by how 'grown up' some of the girls look. When I say 'grown up', what I really mean is tarty!
My kid's primary school had a leaving disco for the departing year 6, some of the parents insisted on the works with limos etc. I think that's ridiculous for 11 year olds. My daughter will be leaving there next year, happy days! I don't mind the leaving proms for the school leavers though, they're practically adults and all going off in their separate ways.
