Norton anti virus

On my previous computer with Window XP and Outllok Expres, in the mail function there was a Norton icon where suspect mails would go and I could select if they were spam or not. Now with Wndows 7 and using Windows Live Mail this icon appears to be no longer present. Does anyone know if it should be there and if so, how I can get it. Thanks for any help.

That does rather assume that salesmen & women actually know something about the items they sale and try to bluff their expertise about. It's sadly not so in my experience. But yes I can see why you conclude it was probably ok, it's just that I'd, personally, want more advice from someone I trusted.

If in doubt try running a free check from Trend's Housecall. Hopefully it'll confirm no problems.

As the question from BJS has now dropped down the list in AB, it is possible that the real Tech Guys will miss it for a reply. Consequently, wishing to be helpful to all, I have established that Microsoft advises that an Anti Virus programme should be installed into Windows 7. :-

Once again thanks for such a massive response restores my faith in the human race that there are still people willing to help. In reply to craft1948 initial reply I do not have Outlook in my Windows 7 application only live mail and yes I get the pop-up and that the mail is in the Junk folder but as my original post said there is nothing to indicate that Norton is present sorting out the Spm mails as in my previous XP/OE system. As regards to whether my Norton mail protection is switched on have very poor eyesight problem's and in fact mailed Norton today to see if there was any way I could increase the font within their site as find their small print very difficult to read but as far as I could make out it is ON. .

BJS...When you are on a site and the print is too small, you should be able to increase the size by pressing and holding down the keyboard key marked 'Ctrl' and then rolling forwards the scroll wheel on you mouse (if you have one) Failing that, hold down 'Ctrl' whilst you tap the plus key (+) to get larger type and minus (-) for smaller.

At one time I found the AnswerBank print difficult to read so I upped it and that's the way I've left it.

Have a try and see if it works. You can't do any harm because if you increase it too much you can immediately decrease it.

Unfotunately neither method works in th Norton site. Ihave become very familiar with increasing font size over the past 2 years but some sites will not respond to external methods but hoping when they reply to my mail they will point the way. That's another good thing with Norton have always founD their support to be excellen,t something like the people on AB.

All very strange. I have tried Norton's official site and had no difficulty in altering the size of type. My immediate reaction was that you are using Internet Explorer as your Browser, whereas my default browser is Firefox. Consequently, I re-tried using IE and was still able to increase and decrease the font.

In view therefore of your original question,which has dropped to down the list to almost 20th in this section, I think it would be appropriate if you were to re-post in AB. I am useless when it comes to real computer technology but am thinking you have more than a single problem and have been unfortunate that experts on AB have missed your posting.

Sorry I can't really help but hope that you hear from Norton and get things sorted-out.

Norton have replied already. WLM is not supported by Norton as it has its own spam filter and Norton is not integrated with WLM but says if I switch to Microsoft Outlook (one of the previous answers mentioned this) but as far as I can tell Outlook is not one of my Windows 7 programmes The subsciption is £39.99.
As regards the font problem when I click on my Norton icon the black interface page from which you can navigate and set your settings needs a 1024 x 766 screen resolution they say which is even to much for my 'tired' eyes so what will have to do is if I require to navigate the site will have to alter the resolution for that operation. Some of its pages such as the accounts the font can be increased as normal. The main problem with high screen resolution even the one I have set is that quite often you cannot see certain boxes like Save for instance or Next so have to decrease the resolution. Once again Norton have proved excellent.

Forget Outlook Express: It does NOT work with Windows7 or Windows Vista.

I had Norton some years ago & with 6 months still to run I had a message saying it was about to run out & needed renewing, after many emails back & forth they still insisted that they were right so I cancelled it & now have Kaspersky.

As I said, have never had a problem and there is a UK 0800 no. for them which is a lot better than E-Mail, as on the phone its at least more personal and certainly will stay with them and as said earlier Which gives them Best Buy. Its like British Gas, have been with them nearly 50 yrs and never had a problem once I had spoken to them about any query, yet in the media we keep reading about their poor customer relations.
