mp3 recognition

  When I plug my mp3 into the usb the mp3 lights up ok but it isnt recognised, or at least there's no sign of it in "my computer". What might be the problem I wonder?

If you have more then one USB port then try another. My ipod only seems to like one of the four ports on my pc.

it might not show if the drive letter is disabled. if u have windows xp go to start>Run ....type:diskmgmt.msc

then u will see the disk management window opening. see if ur mp3 drive is shown there.
