lol
hello, cinnamon, are you also yecats? Anyway, I answered this two minutes after you asked it (though never having tried it out I don't know if it works as advertised)
I thought the purpose of answerbank was to answer questions, not make unsolicited comments on what the questioner should have done - without a Time Machine such comments are worse than useless.
Absolutely Canary....
no sorry for confusion jno - im not cinnamon.... just asked a question myself about tax credits and had judgemental answers of people who dont know the full story :) so i meant that
Perhaps we should get a Dna test to see if yecats and cinnamon are related ?
oh, fair enough, and I agree. Answers that tell you what you should have done a year ago are seldom much use.
Well it must be nice to be as perfect as the AB judgement police, I really don't know why some people can't just answer the flaming question without feeling the need to tell the rest of us how naff we are and substandard;-)
I had my son before me and my husband were marrid and he had my surname, when we got married we re-registered my son and gave him my husbands surname. All couples should re-register their child if they marry after the initial registration so I would assume to do it theother way roud would be just as easy given that the name of father on birth certificate is incorrect.
so are you all saying we're not entitled to post an answer that contains our opinion? because it seems to me that most of your answers on this thread are your opinions of other people having an opinion? I've only heard of DNA testing being used to prove paternity in cases where a parallel issue is maintenance/access ......
just my opinion though and morbid curiosity - would like to know, out of interest, who asked for the dna test and why did the wrong name get put on the certificate? if i'm to be judged for having standards, then so be it..

Thank you for all the useful information, and yes and like ummmm said, some of you have no idea of my situation and if i was to put it up here you would feel ashamed. And no i do not know of anyone who has taken a dna test, but i would nt wish my situation on anyone and just trying to sort out doing the right thing in a very stressful and traumatic time.
Well I hope you get it sorted cinnamon x

Thanks
I know someone who has had a dna test, they bought one online and the result came back within a week. it may be controversial but it is a useful tool to all concerned. better than years of lies and indecision.
