does anyone know where i can buy large plain black picture frames? (like the one in the link below) ...preferably made out of plastic. they have to be the right size to fit a 24x36" poster and a 27x40" poster.

You could always get an untreated wooden one (Ikea?) and paint it black, possibly varnishing it afterwards to make it look glossy.

try athena or a shop that sells those large black and white prints, they should sell them to fit that kindof size :)
