I was so dissapointed with Torchwood this week. It was a whole hour and next to nothing happened!! They just about made it across the Atlantic.

It is trying too hard to please the American audiances.

How much of this series is dedicated to this one story? If the rest is this slow then I won't be watching for much longer.

I thought it was good, I guess when it comes out on dvd it will be in one continuous film so like most films you get long periods with not as much action then parts that contain more but because your looking at it as individual parts your comparing bits of it too other bits of the same story as if all sections have to contain lots of the same.
Still better than Doctor Who....
I'm disappointed, the original and new US influence just doesn't gel. Such a shame.

I've heard the whole series is the same story. Not sure if that's right though.

God it's going to be tedious if it is the same story!!!

It has totaly been made with the Americans in mind and lost it's British feel.

A sell out as far as I am concerned.
Yes It's one story called Miracle day, It's not like a series as such just a film split into episodes and will later be available to buy as the full film on dvd just as ''children of earth was''.
Question Author
Thats why its crap then? A 10 hour film split into 10 episodes?
Oh and to avoid complaints in the UK they have cut out Gay parts that actualy also contain main storyline parts that later on in the episodes you don't fully understand parts of the story as it's been cut out in the UK. The one's shown in the US don't cut it out.

Nothing like doing in it for the money.

The American dollar says it all.

Too long, no content, and , well just plain dull really.

I'm quite enjoying it but its not Torchwood. Not Torchwood as we know it anyway.
Apparently two scene have been cut - one for explicit sex (Captain Jack with a guy) and another for violence, which the BBC ahve sute despite the show going out after the watershed.

Personally, if they want to do that, they could at least show the full versions on the late night repeats (i think they go out after 11pm) Surely noone would complain then - especially if they announce a warning before hand.
I think they have totally ruineda perfectly good show to satisfy the Americans. This and Dr Who are now trash
I agree with you Francis. Love Torchwood in any shape or form - that goes for Dr Who as well.
I was surprised at how many Americans watch Dr Who, we went to the Biosphere 2 in the Arizona desert and, hearing our accents, our guide went into a great discussion on the best Dr Who. He was quite taken aback when I said David Tennent was the first one I'd seen!
I found it quite good actually. The thing is that it's not a new format, this choice to dedicate the whole series to one story.

As you might recall "Children of the earth" was also in this format, one story line split up in several episodes, that is if you also watched that one.
