I read a book as a child in the 80s/90s about a boy living on one of the Channel Islands, and what happened when the Germans invaded, it's subsequent liberation etc. I've looked for this book title everywhere but just can't find it! Can anybody put me out of my misery please?! I was convinced it was by Michael Morpurgo but none of the titles/blurbs I've read match what I remember...help!

Are you sure that it's not Michael Morpurgo's combined association with war and horses that's confusing you? If so, you might be thinking of this:

Could it be "A Boy Remembers" by Leo Harris?
There's a selection of books about the German occupation of the Channel Islands at this site.
