I have a silver(I think) saxophone that has 'Armand et Cie Paris' engraved on it.The reason I think it is silver is because it tarnishes almost black when it hasn't been cleaned for a while and it shines up brillianty when polished but I can't find a hallmark on it.Does anyone know whether it would be of any value because I am looking to sell it but have no clue what to ask for it.I have tried googling but it wasn't much help.Thanking you in advance for any info.

It is probably silver plated. I don't think continental silver has ever had the equivalent of the UK hallmarking system. If it is silver there will be an indication somewhere of the purity of the metal as a percentage.
This might give you some help.

Highly unlikely to be silver. Could be silver-plated, as scotman says, or it could be nickel plated, depending on its age. It's not a make I've heard of, though.

Assuming it's not saleable for its silver value, you'd need to sell it for its instrument value. Take it to a reputable music shop that actually sells saxophones and see if they'll appraise it for you. They should be able to tell you exactly what type of saxophone it is, what sort of order it's in, how old it is and importantly, what you might expect to get for it.
