Can anyone kindly give me contact details of any person(s) or firm(s) engaged in the above within striking distance of Carlisle, Cumberland? Nothing particularly elaborate is needed!

Dont know anyone in your area. I do know that someone in Souport does it but you would have toost it to them. It is expensive to have done though. What is it that is broken?

Thanks maclarencat. I have since managed to find a small firm in Langholm, S.W.Scotland who do a lot of restoration work. You are quite right about it not being cheap - about £30 to repair a 1in. chip in a Booths Real Old Wllow serving dish.
Check out ebay Old Willow sometimes sells very cheaply. Might be cheaper than a repair
Also if you fancy having a go yourself buy some airdrying clay from a craft shop (fimo or similar) fill the missing chip then paint with acrylic paints and varnish. Nowhere near as hard as it sounds I have done it several times on pieces that I want to keep but are damaged
