whay would you want to create even more destruction by creating an explosion?

It's a theoretical question. I said nothing about it being logical.
Since they start with hot and cold air currents i wonder if you could upset the flow with some very intense heat. or maybe not. try it, see what happens.

The means does not justify the end.

nukeing a hurricane

you didnt say it was either logical nor theoretical.

Would something smaller then a nuke do it? Say like a half a ton of tnt?
Did U click the link up yonder? Do you want more?
Nuking a hurricane? Only in America would that sort of moronic, trigger happy, thought ever be thought out loud let alone considered as a possibility. Imbeciles
I think many would think that you're question is quite irrelevant, but who can tell any possibilities? It's actually a good that people start to think of the impossible because this might lead to new discoveries.

For now, the possibility of stopping a tornado or hurricane by explosion is yet to be determined. Why? Because that would be the least on a scientist solution to the problem.

Actually, researchers are taking three probable solution of stopping these mentioned disasters before they could hit and destroy a place.
- heat the colder air before it mixed up with warm air. Done by blasting a beam of microwaves from satellites.
- coat the seawater with thin layers of oil to decrease the evaporation process.
- heating up the clouds ahead of a possible hurricane or tornado cloud to direct in to another direction.
But for further information, these solutions also requires a more sensitive radar to detect forming clouds.

I am in fact hoping that this technology will soon be developed to stop further deaths and destruction as what happened in Joplin, MO. I've read an article with pics and video of it. Putting my shoes on the victims, it's a horrible experience. Hopefully the homeless now have homeowners insurance because I think it can greatly help.

Here's the article. http://www.insurancep...ornado-damage-photos/
