Hi I started my female Boxer on ACV ( Apple Cider Vinegar ) about a week ago, she has 5ml twice a day mixed in her food, but yesterday evening she started having Diarrohea and still has it, could this be the ACV? She is 11 years old, has 50mg Carprogesic tabs twice a day ( for Arthritis ) and 75mg Thyroxil for Thyroid problem. thanks in advance whf

Can I ask why you are treating her with ACV? - is it recommended for animals? I use it as a dietary aid - it certainly binds fat so could (IMO) be causing the diarrhoea. Does your vet recommend this?

Hi she was on ACV for arthritis, I took her to the vet this morning and he has stopped all her medication and has put her on Pro-kalin+ it is a paste type medication to line her tummy also he has started her on Synulux antibiotics. No food for 24 hours, then chicken and rice. I hope this helps her. He (the vet) said it (ACV) does help the joints but it is inclined to be too acidic for her so this could have aggrivated her tummy lining.WHF
Is it recommended for animals, Boxtops? Just enter 'horses cider vinegar' in Google and see what comes up!!
west ham - have a feeling I was one that recommended ACV - still do - but sorry to hear your dog was one of the unlucky ones to experience an adverse reaction. Hope she improves soon.
I feed my chickens ACV daily in their water bowls. They love it & are beautiful, fit & healthy. Perhaps your Boxer has is a sensitive gut ?- ACV is a bit acidic but is very beneficial to most humans & animals.

Hi I cannot believe it with just 4 doses of the Pro-kolin she is 80% better, was able to start her on some chicken and brown rice for dinner today, she is still on the Pro-kolin, but she is on the up. Please dont think I would blame you carmalee for reccomending ACV because I do believe she must have a sensitive gut. I am going to use the ACV diluted to clean her ears and when she has a bath so it will still be a welcome commodaty to her first aid drawer. Thanks every one WHF
