Extract from Harrods dress code for female staff (in ALL deprtments) ...

"FULL make up must be owrn at work.

Lips are to be enhanced with lipliner, lipstick AND lipgloss AT ALL TIMES.

A base and full eyes must be painted on the face."

Would you comply with such a ... frankly ... sexist and outdated dress code, just to work at Rods ...

... or would you tell them to shove their lipstick up their By Royal Appointment butts ??!!??

Oh, come on sqaddy ...

Harrods are effectively saying that women can't look presentable without a face full of slap.
Likely to be in breach of equal rights legislation
as not a requirement for the performance of the job role or for health and safety and not applicable to both sexes.
If they were to provide the make up that would be a different thing but they'd have to give me the time to put it on on arrival at and departure from work.

Perhaps It would become a legitimate tax deducton though as it would be an essential part of ones job.... RH will probably know

Not that I care.

Harvey Nix is a much nicer shop.
JJ...I disagree.....Harrod's are saying if you want to be the best then you must look the best and have laid down their definition of the "best"..........and I agree.
given their worship (until recently) of all things Egyptian, it's hardly surprising they want their female staff to look mummified, though no requirement for males to look... er... daddified. I agree with rowan, this sounds as if it's in breach of equal rights laws.
Sqad wonder if there any calories in makeup, you know seeping through the skin, all the rubbish they put in it, should we be told, lol

I can't stand the ladies who slap the stuff on, on the bus or train, then spend minutes brushing their hair, all the stuff flying everywhere, why don't they get up ten minutes earlier.

I don't think women look their best in make up - especially during the day.

At this time of year, we should be getting a healthy "glow" from the sun (although my nose is peeling from when I burnt my face last weekend). Why cover it up with orange goo?
