Thought my business partner & i would try and do our tax returns online as our accountant keeps putting his prices up. What a joke! Been on phone today 3 hrs for 3 phone calls,on hold for most of the time! They say they are very helpful,you must be joking very abrupt. Also told we need software for our 'Partnership' side. Well, looks like we'll have to find another accountant!!

Naw, you just need one of you to take a sabbatical and pass the accountancy exams. In a few years you'll be free of them.

Unfortunately you do not have to have any qualifications at all to trade as an "accountant". It's not like law.

Simple tax return work can be done by the taxpayer themselves. Personally I think it's lunacy a partnership attempting to do their own tax work but good luck. Far better to employ an accountant and let them do what they do. If the present one is too expensive, shop around and get another one.
