why can't the umpires stop this awful noise

wimbledon is here again, so far so good, but why do some of the players make so much noise, its so distracting, and listening to venus williams grunt and groan through her match makes me wonder why, is it oneupmanship, or something else, because it just turns me off.

I think the grunt is involuntary, she is obviously putting a lot of work into her game.

but it must be distracting for the others player, and players like Steffi Graff and Martina Navratilova didn't do it as far as i am aware.

It is purely the fact that it puts off the other players, they cant shut them up as it isn't against the rules so if you can't stop them try and out shout/grunt them.

The girls are terrible imo. Ruining the game. Something must be done.
