Question for elderly (non-widowed) single people here

I have been told by my friend that all old people who are not married, are single by their own choice. This seems to be a very broad and optimistic observation, and I would like a second opinion on this.

Are there any elderly single persons here, and do you mind my asking if that is your own choice? I can not think for a minute that everyone has found the right person in life. We are constantly told that "there is someone out there for everybody", but might I ask where?

Thanks in advance for your ever helpful answers.

Humphrey bogard once told Frank sinartra that the f@cking you get is never worth the f@cking you get when it comes to relationships
I guess I agree with that
With me the choice was be single rather than just be with someone for the sake of company, as they may be the wrong person to be with.

I'd still be on my own but met someone I did want to be with
Humphrey Bogart was an actor, was married to one of the nastiest of women and it wasn't Lauren Bacall, but the first Mrs, who made according to the books i have read, his life hell. He was also like many actors, particularly at that time, a philanderer and alcoholic,
i lthought he was a great actor, and as far as i have read, his marriage to Bacall was a good one, which lasted till his death.
postdog How would anyone know they are with the wrong person until they have a chance to get to know one another. It might be a month, maybe less, maybe a lot more, and every one makes mistakes, but if they don't give it a try, they would never know.
