Dont know who recorded it, it was probably an orchestra/musicians commissioned by the french tv co who made it. It was written by Robert Mellin and Gian-Pero Reverberi
A bit more info to slightly correct my previous message Franco-London Films, syndicated in USA 1964 & first shown in UK in 1965.
I actually bought the cd of this a couple of years ago from HMV in London. Details are: Original television soundtrack - the adventures of robinson crusoe music by robert mellin and gian-piero reverberi released by silva screen records - filmcd 705 released in 1997 bar code (if that helps) 5014929070520
