Massive price difference between original ones and generic.
Are the cheapies safe and effective?

I have a "generic" one for my HD7 - works perfectly...

mine works fine (it's one that you can plug in at home or use in the car) It didn't fit in the cigarette lighter of my smart car though

Since a generic one can be made by anyone to any design, it's a bit like asking how long a piece of string is. I suspect you pay over the odds for the name you trust. or save and take a chance. After all that though, how difficult is it to knock up a decent charger ?
