The only possible explanation is the the sponsors knew that Pippa wouldn't turn up at the tacky award ceremony to collect her award.

The voting for ROTY had closed before the Royal Wedding. Pippa Middleton might be a shoe-in for next year though. Personally, I think that Carol Vorderman has a fantastic butt, for a 50-year old woman.
