Oh dear, oh dear, Anne Robinson is in trouble for daring to upset a Gay Vicar, with her 'tongue in the cheek' remarks..

Didn't this person realise what he would encounter by appearing on 'The Weakest Link, especially by wearing such a shirt?

Like her or hate her, that is the style of the show, she constantly criticises the contestants, either about what they are wearing, their physical appearance, their occupations, even what part of the country they come from.

Why the BBC cut out the offending remarks before airing the show amazes me, other contestants have been known to suffer even more at her hands than this vicar.

But then these haven't had an organisation such as the gay rights group Outrage, to defend their corner.

He said "Taking part showed that vicars can have fun too", but it seems in this case, apparently not.

Humorous you?

Don't make me laugh.

How can it be right that if you use the word Gay it is immediately linked to homosexuality.
It seems that precious few have that ability, AOG...........

(and just to underline the point, I was referring to Gromit's post.)
AOG

I notice on several posts today you seem to be itching for a fight. Well you won't get one.

jack was not claiming a 'humous' post, she spotted my 'why join the clergy?' remark was tongue in cheek and meant to be humourous, something which apparently you didn't notice.
Gromit, your post must also refer to me because I cannot distinguish so called humour from sarcasm.

It would seem only some should hold the privilege of posting tongue in the cheek remarks, and only their own posts are allowed to be humorous.

A lot of people don't get my sense of humour, which is fine, because I often don't get theirs either!
"'tongue in the cheek'"

very apt !
I object to the word 'Gay' being bandied about all the time. Quote, Gay = Cheerful, Merry, Light Hearted Please let's use correct words like Homosexual (or does it offend to be called that ?) Ron.
I hate that show, and she is so arrogant! Thank goodness it all ends this summer!!!
Is it only me who, when reading reports like this one, always ends up thinking:
"We need, in this Country, less Groups of people who believe in things, and more Groups of people who know things"
Thanks Ron. Being of the much older age group, it really makes me squirm when I see or hear the word "gay" used in this context. I am very broadminded and do not care what other people do as long as they don't expect me to join in, but please, please use the right word. If you are homosexual, then accept that fact and call yourself by the right word. I am sure there are a great many other words which people use and which you would find very objectionable and I agree with you wholeheartedly so just stick to one - the correct one.
