I am receiving texts from a company thats charging me £1.50 evry text they send. I dont now how they have my number and have never signed up for anything.
It does give you the option to text STOP to stop receiving but I'm reluctant to incase it charges me a fortune for that.
I have now deleted the texts I have received from them, but what I want to know is, do you have to actually text STOP in response to one of these texts from these guys to make them stop coming or can you just text STOP randomly to the number even if you have deleted previous messages from this company? Will it still work?

I asked my phone operator how much it would cost me to do this and he said 10p
If thats all it is I'll do it if it stops them coming and charging me each time!!

The number is 88101

thanks

Yes, text STOP to that number. It should stop at once then!
How are they charging you for receiving texts ? Have you signed up or agreed to something ? (UK I assume.)

The normal thing is the sender pays, which is a small consolation to me when I get SMS spam). I think you need to ask your mobile provider why it seems you are paying for incoming texts.
